The substance that everything depends upon to thrive. Water, something that covers 75 percent of the earth. Something so abundantly available that it’s ignored. The giver of life that stays in the background.
We drink water to keep alive. Animals encroached upon the waterways just to ambush their prey. In murky waters, a crocodile just takes a great big bite at a herd. Bite and you will hit something. And the prey is dragged into the abyss.
Water is something we cannot do without. We bath in it. We play in it. Imagine soaping halfway without the water. Think about brushing your teeth without the water. Astronauts have. Bathing without the water. It’s like taking a drink without the drink. Try swimming in a pool without water. It is no fun where fun comes into the equation.
When the Japanese took Bukit Timah hills and the surrounding reservoirs, the British gave up the fight. Fighting in a war without the necessary condiments is simply impossible. The result is a resoundingly mighty defeat. That broke up an empire.
Without water, we have to go into water rationing. During the 1970s, we have the administering of water. The tap runs dry. We cannot wash our hands. We have to get water from a water truck that comes around at a fixed timing. Get our buckets and haul out the empty buckets and haul back in the full buckets again.
Water is another world entirely. We enters another dimension altogether. Even or not if we are aware of it. The watery realm is something we shouldn’t enter any old way. There are rules and guidelines. As in Scuba diving, you could get hurt easily.
The water cycle, a molecule of water travels thousands of years just to complete a cycle. It travels through rivers and lakes. Through you and me. A dinosaur even is.
So, when you take a drink think about all the efforts that’s gone into it and have a good time.
